Kristy joined the team at Blackburn Osteopathy in 2009. After completing a Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2004 at The Australian Catholic University, she went on a working holiday and enjoyed living in the United Kingdom and travelling throughout Europe. Upon her return, she decided to pursue a more hands-on approach to healthcare, and completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage followed by a 3 year full time Bachelor of Health Science (Musculoskeletal Therapy) at the Australian College of Natural Medicine.
Kristy is a highly experienced Therapist and prior to joining Blackburn Osteopathy, she worked as a Remedial Massage Therapist at various locations throughout Melbourne. She also worked on Hamilton Island in Australia's beautiful Whitsundays, providing both relaxation and remedial massage treatments. More recently, Kristy has enjoyed tutoring and clinical supervision at the Endeavour College of Natural Health and is pleased to have the opportunity to pass on some of her knowledge and skills to massage students.
Kristy has always been passionate about a career in the health industry. She is a caring, dedicated and holistic practitioner who integrates a wide range of soft tissue and joint techniques to relieve pain and help restore optimal function and wellbeing to her patients. These techniques include deep tissue massage, cupping, soft tissue manipulation, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint articulation, sports and relaxation massage. Additionally, she provides expert advice on posture, ergonomics and home based stretching and/or strengthening exercises for optimal long term results.
On weekends, Kristy enjoys making the most of Melbourne's great cafés while catching up with friends. She also loves keeping fit and spending time at the beach. When time permits, she likes to head back to her home town of Warrnambool to visit her friends and family. Kristy is always up for a new challenge and recently survived skydiving. Her next big challenge is kitesurfing!
